Saab Deal Completed

Spyker Cars NV confirmed it has finalized the deal with General Motors to purchase Saab Automobile AB, a process that took months of hard negotiations. Saab and Spyker will operate as sister companies under the umbrella of the Amsterdam Euronext, the parent company of Spyker. Spyker executives said this transaction signals the start of an exciting new era for Saab. No plan was announced for how dealerships will be structured under Spyker.  

HUMMER Wind-Down Expected To Begin

General Motors announced yesterday they were unable to secure a deal to sell the Hummer brand, and will begin the wind-down of the brand. Sichaun Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machines Co., Ltd. was unable to complete the acquisition of HUMMER. GM said they will continue to honor HUMMER warranties, while providing service support and spare parts to current HUMMER owners. No time line on the wind-down and closing of dealerships was announced.
